Amos A. Nelson

MINNEAPOLIS - Amos A. Nelson, 79, Minneapolis, died Friday, Aug. 19, 1994, at the Ottawa County Hospital, Minneapolis.

Mr. Nelson was born July 8, 1915 near Brookville and Culver before moving to a farm southwest of Minneapolis in 1945. He was a farmer-stockman and worked for the Agricultural Stabilization and Conservation Service offices in Salina and Minneapolis, retiring in 1980. He was a member of First United Methodist Church, Minneapolis, the Ottawa County Fair Association, a charter member of the Minneapolis Saddle Club and formerly serviced on the Ottawa County Extension Council.

Survivors inlcude his wife, Erma of the home; a daughter, Emily Gilbert, address unknown; a sister, Doris Frain of Minneaplis; and a grandchild.

The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Monday at First United Methodist Church, Minneapolis, the Rev. Frank Morgan officiating. Burial will be in Highland Cemetery, Minneapolis.

Memorials may be made to the Ottawa County Fair Association, church or Ottawa County Hospital.

Visitation will be until 9 p.m. today, from 1 to 9 p.m. Sunday at Shields Funeral Home, 405 Argyle, Minneapolis 67467, and from 9 to 10 a.m. Monday at the church.
